Glória Nobre, the financial manager of Venâncio Mondlane's campaign, has been in preventive detention in the Civil Prison since March 14 and is prevented from receiving visitors or communicating with her family, a family source told the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CDD) on Saturday, March 29.

The arrest took place on March 12, when police officers took her from her home to the 8th Police Station in the Port of Maputo. For approximately 48 hours, Glória Nobre remained in custody without access to family members or her lawyer. The reasons and circumstances that led to her arrest have not been clarified. Two days later, on March 14, the Maputo City Judicial Court confirmed her detention.

Since then, 15 days have passed without her receiving any visits.

The lack of concrete information about the case raises suspicions that it is a political use of the judicial system, a common practice to pressure opponents and weaken them in possible negotiations. Glória Nobre is the third member of Venâncio Mondlane's team to face legal problems, including Mondlane himself.
