
Mozambique and Botswana Strengthen Cooperation Relations
March 31st, 2025Last Friday, March 28, the city of Nacala, located in Nampula province, hosted an important meeting between the leaders of Mozambique and Botswana, Daniel Chapo and Duma Boko. The aim of the visit was to strengthen economic ties and friendship between the two countries.
According to the Ikweli newspaper, Boko's visit to Mozambique focused on strengthening historical relations of brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation in the political, economic, social and cultural spheres. In addition, the internal situation in both countries and the general situation in southern Africa, the African continent and the world were discussed.
The Mozambican president, Daniel Chapo, classified Duma Boko's visit as a historic milestone, highlighting the levels of cooperation between the two countries, especially with regard to taking advantage of development corridors, such as the Limpopo Corridor. "We also talked about tourism, an area of great potential for both countries. Botswana is a renowned destination for conservation tourism, while Mozambique stands out for its incredible islands and coastlines," said Chapo. The Mozambican statesman stressed the importance of working together to implement the agreements signed and other projects that promote mutual development.
For his part, Duma Boko, president of Botswana, expressed his admiration for the Mozambican reality and guaranteed that all cooperation commitments would be met seriously.
During the visit, the two leaders also visited the Port of Nacala and the Humanitarian and Emergency Operations Center (COHE), with the aim of getting to know how these important infrastructures work.
The meeting highlighted the strengthening of relations between Mozambique and Botswana, with a growing focus on economic cooperation, tourism and other key sectors for the development of both countries.
